Before and Afters ...

well the summer holidays seem to be flying by and im not getting much done, im trying to sew when i can to get clothes ready for september but i dont seem to be having much time .....
kendal recently put photos of 3 of my dolls on her blog so i thought id add photos here of how they once looked ....
firstly is the little blonde waif who arrived to me just as a head, trouble is even though i know i took photos of her when she arrived i can seem to find any ! ...her hair was dry and in a ponytail so i cut it into a bob as the top was quite thick and healthy , i really like her with her little scuffed face and slightly sunken look as if something went wrong when she came out of the mold ....

i found these not very good photos of before and after hair cuts ...

and as she is now with a more scruffy look ....

next is my platinum blonde reroot ....i was so disappointed when she arrived , she was beautiful , brunette , matt and minty but had really bad falling hair , i doubt she'd ever been played with and being trapped laying in her box had caused the hair loss, i kept her as she was for a while before i rerooted her ....

as she is now .....

next is my first gregor, (shown in the photo above) when he arrived his box was full of hair, it got to the point when there was hair all over his shoulders and on the shelf where he stood so i had to rewig him ...now a girl she became my main model wearing a while variety of wigs , when i started to reroot all my models i left her to last as she was special and i wanted it to be perfect , trouble is if i put lots of thought into things they tend to go wrong and it turned out to be one of my worst reroots , firstly the hairs too dark, she has had 3 different partings , starting with a very low sidepart that didnt work, then a centre part and now a not so low side part , then i cut it into a bob as i wasnt using her as a model as the hair didnt look right , now she looks photogenic but in real life doesnt look too nice ....

now lots of photos in a variety of wigs ....

first modelling photos in a pintucks wig ...standing in a rather dodgy fashion :)

rare appearance as a boy in a prince gregor wig ...

and as she is now with her rather harsh hair ...

lastly i found this photo of the first sashas i had .....a rather mixed bunch !....the gregor is from the photos above and the caleb now has lots of plaits but all the others have gone to pastures new ...

  1. This was a lovely post to go through Sarah, and to see the differences that have occurred with your dolls. I love your little blond Gotz girl, she reminds me of my own blond Gotz who I got on Ebay. I just happened to log on and there she was, just been listed with a reasonable BIN so I quickly snapped her up...and she was lovelier than the seller would have had you believe! She too has that slightly concave look to her face but for some reason I am unable to get a really good photo of her, she never looks as nice in photos as I think she looks in real life.
But of all the photos above, I love those of the last girl, who used to be a boy. She really is a very pretty girl and I love all the wigs you've had on her. She looks particularly sweet and appealing in the Pintucks wig with the gingham blouse and dungarees...I really love her look.
    Keep 'em coming Sarah!

    1. its annoying sometimes when a doll looks lovely in real life but not so in photos , ive got a couple that look fab in photos but not in real life ! ....as for my first wigged model the pintucks wig was really good until i decided to cut a heavy fringe into it and it didnt work at all...im thinking those were the first dungarees i ever made :) and yes my doll tastes have changed over the years , i think in the beginning they all had to have tags and boxes ....very different story now xxxx

I especially love the first girl , she looks lovely with the shorter hair , I do love a good waif! lol

  3. Just amazing to see your gorgeous transformations of waifs! I am particularly fond of your blonde rerooted girl, just love her long blonde hair with no fringe. Very beautiful! Also, the Gregor with the many wigs looks fantastic in every wig---how nice is that! Thank you for sharing the dolls and their changes. A lovely post. :) xxx

    1. thanks ginger ...what i think i liked about the rewigged gregor was just how versitile she was with all the wigs that suited, the reason though i gave up with wigs was if they were in constantly in use they stretched and then in one photo the fringe would be at eyebrow level but in the next it would have slipped back and she would look like she'd had a drastic haircut inbetween photos ...at least rerooted hair stays put :) xxxx
