These dolls of ours sometimes put us in impossible situations and i have seen a doll that i want SO much that i have to be ruthless and find different things to sell to fund her....so a bit reluctantly this little lady needs a new home.....

JUST A NOTE .......

To say i aim to add some new clothes for sale on easter weekend....well thats the plan !
its been a really busy week this week, mums been down visiting and esme has lots of stuff going on with school so not as much time for sewing as i would like and then the easter holidays start, so again im not sure how much spare time i will have but i will keep you posted as to when there will be more clothes added........

SUNSHINE GIRL......

I will be adding some more clothes for sale tomorrow but in the meantime i took some photos of this lovely girl on a very sunny day.....
she has the darkest silkiest hair but just needs a few plugs filling at the front, so in the meantime i think she looks lovely with her hair swept over into a clip to the side ......

FINISHED AT LAST !!!!!.....

This reroot was going into the unknown for me and was a bit of an experiment, im a bit nervous about showing everyone as i know she wont be everyones cup of tea !...when i bought caleb i could have used silky straight hair to reroot him and im sure he would have looked lovely but i wanted to try to do something more in keeping to what a child with afro hair may have. I did lots of research on afro hair extensions and was left a bit confused at the different types of hair used to achieve different looks, the hair i settled on didnt work so i used some i had in the cupboard so all the research was a bit of a waste of time !
Using the afro hair wasnt easy as it was frizzy and really hard to thread through the needle, i also used more hair in each plug than i usually would because i planned to braid the hair and i wanted the braids a certain size...
I was quite worried as you will see below when i had finished the rooting part, the hair was huge and if the braids didnt work i had no idea what to do with such a mass of hair ....








I started braiding from the back and it seemed never ending and i had still no idea what it was going to look like untill it was completely finished and the braids had been cut and sealed.....
My first impression was that i was SO disappointed, it didnt look at all as i expected,i have always liked andrea of the dollworks model who wears a braided wig.....but all that hair that i had rerooted had braided down to nothing and there was lots of scalp on show....but since yesterday it has grown on me, maybe ive not seen a sasha look like this before and thats why it takes some getting used to ?......
Today it is damp and foggy and ive taken about a million photos to try and show you what she now looks like, some taken outside and some in , theyre not the best photos as i had to brighten them all on the computer else she just looked like a silhouette....











lastly a back view of the braids....i sealed them so they wont come undone but just to make sure i also melted the tips with the hair straighteners, i dont think i really needed to do this and its left little bobbles on the ends so i may snip this off...

PRETTY GIRLS.....

This is a beautiful brunette pony tail girl, wearing a molly cardigan, jj shoes and i dont know who made the dress but i suspect its really meant for a baby ? but it still looks sweet even if its a bit too small ! ....





This pale skinned large head, saucer eyed girl i think is stunning in real life but sadly doesnt photograph too well....shes wearing a lovely smocked dress by jill mackley and jj shoes....





Redhead gotz girl who i think its a bit of a "plain jane", shes got a very subtle face and very fine hair, i have just learnt  that frances (egonbooks) made her dress ,when i had thought it was by betsymay  and her shoes i think are by smpg....





These next 2 girls are wearing my sewing rejects, the trouser suit didnt go well from the start and then was finished by the top being a tiny bit snug so this wigged yellow eyed girl has now got a new outfit !....



This outfit, (rosie bloom shoes) i changed one of my patterns slightly and it ended up a bit wider on the shoulders than i planned but perfect for this gotz girl who has wider shoulders than an english girl....yes i know she has a very severe fringe but it looked to me to have had been cut in the middle above her eyes like a chunk had been cut out so i continued the line of cutting and this was the result....i know the gotz girls wouldnt have had hair like this in the first place but i think she looks quite nice....(looking at the photos is looks a bit wonky but in real life its a straight as can be )

REROOTING !!!

I think i must be a bit mad as today i have started a new reroot, i did say the last one i did was to be the last but i bought a caleb sometime last year with the intention of rerooting but couldnt decide what to do with the hair, so up untill now he has been modelling in a homemade wig made from wool......but now i have a plan for him, ive no idea at all at how he/she will look when finished, it may just be alot of wasted time but i wont know till i try !...it didnt start off well this morning as i couldnt use the hair that id bought as i soon found it wasnt suitable, id made up my mind though that today was the day to make a start so ive started using some hair that i bought by mistake a few years ago, i dont think theres enough though and i dont know the exact colour shade , so ive just ordered some more with the hope it will match....
so there wont be any new sewing for a while but i hope to add some nice dolly photos in the meantime for you all to see .......
