A LITTLE HOLIDAY.....

I just thought i should add a little note because i know people check my blog for new clothes but there wont be any for a while as ive got so much to do.......
next week i will be starting a reroot, the last couple of weeks ive been busy making clothes for people, i keep looking at my reroot with the dreadlocks and ive come to conclude she looks that awfull that i must cut it off and start again, i know i must be mad after all that work but im glad i tried my hair brained plan, it didnt work, so the plan now  is to try again with a different style but saying that after ive completed next weeks reroot i may be left not wanting to do another for a long while.....
also my garden has gone really wild full of huge brambles so that needs lots of attention, so i thought it best to do all the other things that need doing before i can settle sewing...lots of decorating too but i think that can wait till winter....
hopefully it wont be ages untill there are new clothes but i need to unchain myself from the sewing machine for a while !! xxxxx

some of the outfits ive been busy making for people......

  4. Couldn't you sell your dreadlock girl, because not everyone thinks she looks dreadful, and then you could start on a new doll? I think you would come out "ahead" financially, since she is quite unique! Or do you feel too bad sending her out into the world not looking her very best?

    1. oooh no, id feel embarrassed selling her as she is, im really not happy with her at all, this week ive tried to do lots with her hair and nothing looks right but im glad I did it in the first place as I would have always been wondering what it would have turned out like...we shall see what happens xxxxx

  5. I unfortunbately know that feeling only too well....but with regards to my Sasha Dolls and blog rather than a sewing machine as I no longer sew, so I too will be following suit and taking a little holiday from my dolls and blog posts very shortly so that I can catch up on some 'much needed to be done house and garden' jobs.
Enjoy your Sasha re-rooting, gardening and eventual house decorating!
Looking forward to your return to designing and making more of your fabulous, IMO 'nobody does it better' Sasha outfits!

  6. Dear Sarah, I wish you much pleasure and a little leasure in the garden when weather allows...About your dreadlock reroot I have to echo lorraine, cause I find her great but I know that once you have got this idea into you head and have decided to change her there is no way back. Love and hugs, Fanny

  7. Dear Sarah,
You sound very busy so it's good to have a break from sewing now and again. It was so special coming to see you and your Sashas! Thank you for having us. Now we are back in the Melbourne Winter and it's cold and wet, but I am happy to be sewing for the Sashas again and listed two on eBay this week. I decided I can't make enough to keep a blog going, as my life is very busy with the grand-children etc. Enjoy getting out in the sunshine and hope your re-roots go well. I thought the Sasha with dread-locks was fine, but I know you weren't happy with her so in the end you will be glad to have a new hair-style on her. Hope you are all well and Esme happy at school. Take care, Susan

  9. Sarah, I love seeing all the amazing dresses you created with the vintage Japanese floral fabric! I'm hoping you are enjoying your break from sewing and feeling like other things in your world are getting in order.

    1. thanks betsy, glad you liked taking a peak, like I said I usually only have enough fabric for one outfit but I had lots of this Japanese fabric, so it was nice to make it into different styles....nothing yet in my world is getting in order , cut my dreadlocked girls hair, it looks a bit better so may not have to do a complete new reroot...we shall see ....sarah xxx
