I think i first added socks with the outfits when i made shoes as they fitted under them well ....i had a huge reel of the socks that came in a tube that was stitched at intervals and you cut them to size , you then turned them the right way round and rolled down the tops ....i think the reel held 1500 pairs of socks , now theyre all gone , p&p from america to get more is rather expensive compared to what it was a few years back and as theyre not reallly the best socks and just serve a purpose ive decided not to buy more ....so heres a photo of my little waif baby sat on the empty reel ...xxx
Cute baby Sarah!
ReplyDeleteNever mind the socks, as long as they are still going to get knickers ;)
xxx
:) :) yes still getting knickers ! ....was going to say how lovely your girl looks in her new wig ...just like mine once looked....grrr ! xxxxxx
DeletePhew that's a relief....because if I'm EVER quick enough to get one of your outfits, my girls will be so happy to have knickers underneath. I'm not an Essex girl for nothing you know!
DeleteAww thanks on the wig, inspired by you of course. I reckon you should remove her hair again if you miss her as she was previously. Just a thought! ;)

It doesn't liik as though your baby minds beng without socks. Clearly, knickers are the only required garb!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Sharon here, many of my Sashas, girls and boys are known as Nicholas for obvius, very Essex reasons, and would give up every sock they own in order to have undies. They are what my granny used to refer to as 'all frills on the surface but no knickers under.'
Mind you, like Sharon again, I'm never quick enough to ever buy one of your lovely outfits....but I am determined, one day my kids will be Vintagers!
ah - the touch typing, or rather not quite touching the right key thing strikes again - sorry!
Deletewell i just think theres so many lovely socks , like the fab ones gill makes ,,,...im not actually sure people want ittle cheapie nylon ones :) xxxx
DeleteWHAT NO SOCKS! I don't think's a problem Sarah, as the others say Knickers are much more important or should that be respectable? ;)
ReplyDeleteYour outfits will be snapped up with or without the socks and maybe whiles someones thinking on, this others will be able to nip in and purchase :) xxx
Oops forgot to say love the baby :)
Deletethis little baby was a project from years back that i never got round to doing , i painted her eyes when she arrived and bunched her hair up but she needs restringing, cleaning and shiny bits removed and i never get round to it , so she just sits in her knickers looking sad :( xxx
DeleteDidn't know that YOU had a BABY in the HOUSE... and such a dear little tot too! Love the hair style! Well, as they say 'I live and learn.'
ReplyDeleteGosh you've made 1500 pairs! Surely that must be a Sasha sock making RECORD?
(I guess that I can forgive you this since you were honest and owned up without any prompting.)
ive had that baby for years , im not sure how many but alot ! poor neglected girl ....im liking no more socks, as yes it takes no time at all to make one pair but as you know i leave it untill i have about 10 pairs to make and i dont like it at all ! xxx
DeleteMy mum will be sad, she prefers your socks to all others! I must admit I like them myself, but alas what's a girl to do ;) X
ReplyDeletei didnt think anyone liked them ! ....trouble is , its now about £30 postage for a reel from america , it was nowhere near that before ....maybe i should investigate further xxx
DeleteHi Sarah I just had a thought of what you could do with the tube, cut id half way down and make a Sasha Table xxx
ReplyDeleteive taken it out of the recycling ...may be a useful prop one day :) xxx
DeleteSarah, so very sorry. If I can help in any way with postage please let me know. I am more than happy to help you replace the sock reel and bring smiles to those that love your socks. :) xxx
