TRIFFID .....

Well not really ! ...just a giant echium, i was sunbathing today and thought it would make a nice photo...its taller than it looks in the photo as it fell down and i had to tie it to the fence so now its wonky ....i would have taken pics of gregor too but i repainted his eyes a while back (for about the 6th time) and thought they looked quite nice untill i saw them in bright daylight today and realised theyll need to be done again ....

    1. i would have thought youd have loads of them in spain, i think theyre from the canary islands ?, they grow where they want like weeds...it was hard to fit gregor and the plant in the pic as its so tall xxxx

  6. Gosh what a skyscraper of a plant that is! Must weigh a ton! Never heard of it before. Perhaps I could do with a line of those blocking my views of the neighbouring houses around me.
Bet that it would fill our brown/green re-cycling bins when it dies and is cut back.

    1. yes it does weigh a tonne as i found out when it fell over , its also covered in fine fluffy prickles like a cactus, when it dies im going to lay it behind the plants on the other side of the garden and fingers crossed it will seed itself and will grow lots more to block out being overlooked by the next door flats xxx
